Decade Celebration

THE BOSTON PRISON GARDEN PARTY

Saturday, November 16th

Boston Nature Center

500 Walk Hill Street, Mattapan, MA

Join us to celebrate 10 years of gardening in Greater-Boston prisons and jails.

The New Garden Society is celebrating our 10th year of programming. Over the last decade, we have taught nearly 1000 incarcerated students in 9 facilities! Save the date above to celebrate, and please consider sponsoring this exciting event (details below).

10th Anniversary sponsorship

Since 2013, TNGS has been teaching and planting inside treatment facilities, prisons, jails, and juvenile detention centers. We transform yards into productive gardens that provide a therapeutic space, access to fresh food, and educational resources for our incarcerated neighbors. Through our programs, incarcerated individuals practice job skills and connect with their peers and their environment.  We’ve trained nearly 1000 individuals in the art and science of plants. We don’t do it alone. Donations from friends, family, and businesses have sustained this transformative work.

10th Anniversary Sponsors give $500, $1000, $2000 or $5000 to support these essential spaces. As a sponsor, you will receive two free tickets to attend our celebration on Saturday, November 16, and receive public recognition (through our website, social media, and remarks at the event). We will also thank sponsors in our quarterly newsletter, which circulates to 1500 people in green industry, non-profit, and education fields. Most importantly, your generosity will draw donations to TNGS programs and increase financial support for incarcerated students and their gardens.

in-kind donations

We are seeking in-kind donations of beverages or services (floral arrangements, decorations) for this event, as well donations to a silent auction fundraiser. Please reach out to: info@thenewgardensociety.org
