Fall Plant & Bulb Distro

garlic.jpeg

Every fall, The New Garden Society collects plants and bulbs from Greater-Boston farms and nurseries and distributes them to incarcerated gardeners. Some growers intentionally grow extra for us each year, others donate high quality extras after their field planting. With prison gardens suspended during the pandemic, we’re distributing plants to Greater-Boston community-based organizations and projects. We’re centering Black neighbors, formerly-incarcerated people and communities impacted by mass incarceration. We’re working quickly over the next few weeks to distribute plants and bulbs to neighbors who are seeking the sustenance and solace of gardens.

If you want to donate plants, reach out to coordinate a drop-off or pick-up. High quality food, herbs and ornamentals welcome. If you’re a community-based project in Greater-Boston that wants to receive plants, especially if you work with formerly-incarcerated neighbors, email Lisa (info@thenewgardensociety.org) or call (857) 203-0585.

All pick-ups and drop-offs will be contactless as we continue to follow the latest public health guidance and protect the most vulnerable in our community.
